Recent studies by Mayama et al.1 and Akkerman et al.2 established human adrenal cortex organoids that recapitulate fetal and adult adrenal development, offering unprecedented insight into differentiation path- ways and allowing disease modeling. Though challenges like immature phenotypes and immune rejection will need addressing, they offer great potential for cell-based therapies.
