A family of kestrels chose iGReD as the place to grow up!
Last spring, a female kestrel chose to build her nest on the window ledges of the 3rd floor of iGReD. Thanks to the discreet care and protection provided by the institute’s staff, five young kestrels were able to grow up and take their first steps ,or rather, first flights , in complete safety.
For several weeks, iGReD members watched with curiosity as they grew and began testing their wings. After a few attempts, Angélique’s five young protégés finally took flight, leaving the institute’s windows behind…
A lovely illustration of the coexistence between nature and research , and yet another reminder that iGReD is a place where you can take flight, in every sense of the word!
