Biology Olympiad: Academic Award and Onward to the Final for a Project Boosted by iGReD!
As part of the National Biology Olympiad, a prestigious competition for high school students, a team of three students from Murat High School in Issoire distinguished themselves brilliantly thanks to a project carried out in close collaboration with iGReD.
Nina, Océane, and Yaëlle, the three students, were supported by Isabelle Vaillant, a teacher-researcher at iGReD. Together, they worked for two months on the 2025–2026 theme: “Biology in all its forms… and across all eras.” Their research focused on an ambitious scientific question: “Why do some inherited genetic diseases affect boys more frequently?”
The quality of their work was recognized with the award of first place at the academic level, a distinction that opens the door to the national final, scheduled to take place in Toulouse on April 4, for which the entire iGReD community is supporting them.
