A new microscope has been added to the range of equipment available on the iGReD CLIC platform: the Leica Stellaris confocal microscope. This state-of-the-art system enables near-infrared imaging, expanding the range of fluorophores that can be used for biological imaging. It also incorporates FLIM (Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging Microscopy) technology, providing an additional dimension to biological analysis by measuring fluorescence lifetime.

This approach facilitates the study of molecular interactions and cellular metabolic states, while also enabling autofluorescence to be either exploited as a source of biological information or effectively eliminated, depending on the requirements of the analysis.

Funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), with support from INSERM and GIS IBISA, this new equipment expands the imaging capabilities of the CLIC platform and opens up new opportunities for research.
