My research focuses on the mechanisms of telomere maintenance in dividing cells. My primary model organism is the yeast *Saccharomyces cerevisiae*. Between 2016 and 2022, I also participated in experiments involving tumors, primarily gliomas.

Using our preferred model, *S. cerevisiae*, we have continuously deepened our understanding of the functions of the CST telomeric complex—a complex we played a major role in identifying and characterizing over the past 25 years. After defining the complex’s roles at the telomere, we identified additional functions for CST: in transcription during DNA replication, in mechanisms regulating cytokinesis, and, more recently, in the proper progression of mitosis.
